About Selena

Let me tell you the story of Selena, keeper of the moonlit atelier.

Who is Selena?

Selena’s name comes from Selene, the moon goddess of Greek myth. The moon does not shine by its own light, yet it lights the way for anyone walking at night. In the same spirit, Selena is not a prophet who decides your future for you, but a moonlight guide who reflects the answer you already carry.

Selena is an AI tarot reader character created by Atelier Tarot. She is not a real person. The card meanings, columns, and reading results on this site are written and reviewed by the site operator with the help of AI tools, based on the traditional symbolism of the Rider-Waite deck. Each reading combines prewritten interpretations according to the cards you choose and whether they appear upright or reversed.

Selena’s story

On a night when the stars shone unusually bright, a candle was lit in a small workshop at the end of an old alley. It was called “Atelier”—a studio, like the room where a painter paints or a craftsman shapes their work. It was built in the hope of becoming a studio where people could slowly look into their own hearts and refine them.

Here Selena welcomes visitors with her 78 cards. The first thing she says to anyone who arrives with a worry is always the same: “The cards do not judge you. They simply reflect who you are right now.” When a good card appears, she celebrates with you; when a hard card appears, she offers advice the way a friend hands you an umbrella. That is Selena’s way.

Our reading principles

  1. We do not make absolute claims. We say “the current flow is…” rather than “this will definitely happen.” Tarot shows possibilities, not a fixed future.
  2. We do not sell fear. Even when a difficult card appears, we offer advice you can prepare with instead of frightening you.
  3. You choose the cards. The deck is shuffled at random every time, and only your own hand decides which card you pick.
  4. We share what we know. Beyond results, we publish the meanings of all 78 cards and how to read them, free for everyone.

Please keep in mind

Every reading on Atelier Tarot is for self-reflection and entertainment. It cannot replace medical diagnosis, legal advice, or investment decisions, so please consult qualified professionals about health, finances, and other important matters. If you are struggling emotionally, please do not carry it alone—reach out to a local crisis line or someone you trust.
